Greetings to all, this is a call to immediate action!

Currently, our societies have been sold on animosity, divisiveness, hatred, and we need a whole new approach based on the mindset and heart of love, Mindful Love! Also, it is time to have a deeper conversation addressing our global mental health and dementia crisis by bringing awareness and change to seen and unseen challenges that are taking its toll on society. This crisis is destroying families and society as a lack of understanding and as our treatments' ineffectiveness continues. We need a new approach of Mindful Love for the patient, caregivers, and society overall because what we are doing right now is failing us all. So I questioned myself… Can a movement be based on a message that could help unify us as one??? If so?? What would be the message? My answer was… LOVE! Love transcends! Love Wins! It is the desire of my heart to create a movement based on love to bring consciousness to our mental health and dementia crisis. It is a social experiment!

This assessment is to see if a social brand that is designed to give back from the onset can effectively start a movement of change. This is personal to me, my name is Mark Johnson, I grew up loving and playing sports. The challenge to compete was exciting to me. So, much so, that I wanted to be a professional athlete. Chasing the dream, I came close until injuries struck. At the ripe age of 19, a spinal injury was revealing itself enough to cause the decision to choose to stop playing. Little did I know that all the head trauma which had occurred over the years would manifest itself and take a greater toll on my life. The loss of a sound mind has many ramifications including the loss of dignity by not being able to provide for my family.

Today, I am 54 -year-old diagnosed with early onset of dementia on full disability as a result of the repeated concussive and sub-concussive hits, head trauma during my early youth. There is a profound stigma around mental health and its unknowns. The disbelief about disabling cognitive decline is causing the suffering of abandonment, homelessness, loneliness, unwanted divorces, parental alienation, anxiety, and more. The suicide rate is growing as a loss of hope festers each day. No one is exempt. For many, it is only our deep faith that has kept us alive. This involves everyone because all of us have a brain and mental illness or traumatic injury can happen to any of us through accidents, biological agents, brain abnormalities even genetic links. This crisis is growing in pandemic proportions, and it does not discriminate.

So, I ask you to join me in helping launch the Mindful Love Movement! Let’s together help dissipate the stigmas, create awareness, spread love, and support the community affected by dementia. We want awareness that begins with a love campaign! I am talking about the creation of a social brand through apparel products as a tool to launch the movement that keeps the conversation on the topic of mental health, and traumatic injuries leading to our dementia crisis going.

Personally, I have created the prototypes, given them away, and, sold some of them on the streets and beaches of South Florida, it has had a great embrace. I want this social brand to generate funds to give back to various issues of the dementia communities through partnering programs domestically and internationally. Because of the progression of the disease, my capacity and executive function levels are limited. So, I must work according to how my brain operates and have to pay others to execute this social project.
